True Tarte Tatins take time (alliteration not intended 😊), the preparation of this version is super quick. I used up a spare roll of puff pastry; apples and nuts are always on hand here.
Try these delicious treats at home. You won't be disappointed.
Ingredients:
1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry
30g chopped pistachios
6 tsp honey
2 apples
1 egg for the egg wash
Icing sugar to dust
Method:
Take the puff pastry sheet out the fridge a few minutes before using. Preheat oven to 180c. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Peel and core 2 apples, then cut slices appx 2mm thick. Chop the pistachios. Unroll the pastry sheet and using a circular cutter cut 6 rounds a few millimetres larger than the apple slices.
Place a tsp of honey in 6 spots on the prepared tray leaving space between each, top with a tsp of pistachios and then 2 slices of apple. Cover each with a circle of pastry, press down the edges and then brush with the egg wash.
Place in the oven for appx 18 mins, until golden brown.
Once ready, take out the oven, carefully turn them over and place on a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar and serve.Enjoy
