What’s Hot for Summer 2026 by Lamphane

For a long time, the ‘Butterfly’ haircut reigned as the most requested style. But in 2025 and the early months of 2026, ‘Bobs’ took over, and we loved seeing Lily Collins, Ji-young Yoo and Kathy Bates embrace different versions of the trend. From French bobs to blunt cuts and box bobs, each of them wore the style beautifully.

But ladies, the Bob is getting even shorter and the ‘Bixie’ cut is now one of the biggest hair trends to watch for Summer 2026. A hybrid of the Bob and the Pixie cut, the Bixie combines the best of both styles. With shorter, more layered sections at the back and slightly longer pieces framing the front, it transforms the classic Bob into something fresher, more playful, and a little edgier.

Personally, I’m loving the short hair moments of Jessie Buckley, Zendaya and Emma Stone, who are showing that the Bixie style is effortlessly cool and modern.

But the celebrity look I’m truly obsessed with is the Gracie Abrams Bixie cut. It suits her perfectly and reminds us that short hair doesn’t have to be sharp or severe. It can be soft, feminine, and undeniably pretty.

All things considered, the Bixie captures that balance beautifully - easy, chic, and full of personality.

Create the look...

I really fell in love with the Bixie cut after seeing Gracie Abrams on the red carpet at the Academy Awards alongside Paul Mescal. This is how I would style this look.

After using the Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner to prepare the hair. I would gently towel-dry before applying Thicker Quicker directly to the roots to create volume and lift, a key part of this style.

Next I would apply Eureka Blowdry Balm to provide heat protection and help achieve a smooth, polished finish.

Once the hair is blow dried, I would work a few drops of Magic Oil through the lengths and ends to add shine and softness, plus subtle definition.

Finally, to complete the look a little Heavenly Body to keep the style in place while maintaining movement and texture.

Myths & Misunderstandings - Can I over-protein my hair?
Myths & Misunderstandings - Can I over-protein my hair?

Healthy hair is essentially 97% protein and 3% water. The protein provides the structural strength, the water gives flexibility and shine. Hair cannot be overloaded with protein but it can become so dehydrated with heat styling, colouring, and siliconised hair products that you end up losing the 3% water of fresh root hair, and then what is left of the shrunken hair towards the ends is 100% protein and too porous to hold moisture.
