Family Business

I’m lucky to have two families. My biological family and my work family.

Our online store is continuing to ship worldwide as normal. Our warehouses are following the strictest W.H.O advice and protocols, which means reduced manpower and social distancing.

To help fill in, we’ve turned the salon into another logistics hub and the family are stepping in. To be fair, the twins need no encouragement - work is more fun than fun. But even Mum insists on helping if we let her and she’s 97.

This week they helped finish a shipment of our best-selling Luxury Starter Set. We’d sold out online again, and had to get shipments to our logistics carrier fast, as well as our distributor partners in Hong Kong and Australia. It was all hands on deck.

And it’s actually more trouble keeping the boys away from work. They love packing and shifting boxes. In fact, a few months ago a friend of ours decided to treat them with a trip to Hamley’s toy shop.

On the way, just a hundred yards from home they spotted Tony one of our regular delivery drivers bringing a shipment in for the salon. They stopped dead in their tracks and insisted they help Tony unload the boxes instead. That meant no to Hamley’s, which held no meaning for them, but yes to boxes which left them wide-eyed with excitement.

From French bobs to blunt cuts and box bobs, each of them wore the style beautifully.

Myths & Misunderstandings - Can I over-protein my hair?
Myths & Misunderstandings - Can I over-protein my hair?

June 11, 2026

Healthy hair is essentially 97% protein and 3% water. The protein provides the structural strength, the water gives flexibility and shine. Hair cannot be overloaded with protein but it can become so dehydrated with heat styling, colouring, and siliconised hair products that you end up losing the 3% water of fresh root hair, and then what is left of the shrunken hair towards the ends is 100% protein and too porous to hold moisture.
